Minnesota sends: Kyle Lewis, CF/RF (SEA) - 21-24: $0.5M
Miami sends: John Means, SP (BAL) - 21-22: $2.5M Ivan Herrera, C (STL) - Prospect Alejandro Pie, SS (TB) - Prospect Jose Salas, SS (MIA) - Prospect Braxton Garrett, P (MIA) - Prospect Cody Bolton, P (PIT) - Prospect Seth Johnson, P (TB) - Prospect
MINNESOTA LOGIC: Trading away the 2020 AL Rookie of the Year is very risky, but I like this return. While I may not be better off in 2021 from this deal, it is all about the long-game here. I am trying to rebuild my roster to improve my Minor League depth, and this trade accomplishes that. I like the upside that Pie and Salas bring to the table. I like the three arms I am receiving. I am a big fan of Herrera, and it made sense to get him after sending away Campusano. I am also buying into John Means’ late 2020 improvements. It is tough to part with Kyle Lewis though, as he will be a fun player to watch over the years. This is more of a sum-of-its-part trade for me since there isn’t really one headliner coming back my way. But I have faith that the guys I am getting will, in a few years, develop into players that warrant trading away a stud like Lewis.
Great working with Chuck on this deal! I enjoyed the discussion. Thanks and good luck.

I agree. To acquire a player like Lewis I had to part with a significant minor League talent pool. I have been trying to add building blocks a step at a time. I hope Lewis adds to that plan. It was nice talking trades with Bailey. I hope this works out for both teams. Good Luck and welcome to the league. It is a lot of fun and Brent does a great job running the show.
