The Baltimore Padres and Tampa Bay Phillies have agreed to a trade.
The Padres send: Reginald Preciado (SS - CHC) prospect 2023 3rd round pick Michael Conforto (OF - FA) 2022: $3M
The Phillies send: David Robertson (RP - CHC) 2022-23: $1M Jorge Lopez (RP - BAL) 2022: $1.4M, 2023: $0.6M
I'm giving up a lot of future value here as I throw good money after bad in pursuit of a bullpen. I really like Preciado, and I'm a little skeptical of both RPs, but they are both getting saves at the moment. I know it's early, but I only have 3 saves. I didn't want to make a similar deal in two months after having fallen further behind in the category. I added Conforto because I was going to waive him to make room for these guys, and I have several guys ahead of him in the RFA line for next off-season (the Conforto deal was another gem by me this year). Anyhow, fingers crossed that Robertson and Lopez provide value this year. Nice chatting with Rusty to put this together.

I confirm. I reached out to Matt when I noticed he was a little behind in saves and we quickly put this together. This continues my team goal of moving current MLB players for prospects and picks to continue the rebuild. I like Preciado and hope he can develop into a solid player. I'm always looking for picks, so adding another in a deep draft will hopefully pan out. Finally, Conforto is another piece that I will hope to move either during the season or after. Great working with Matt to put this together.
