The Padres send:
George Valera (OF - CLE) - prospect
Carlos Hernandez (P - KC) 2022-25: $0.5M
Willie Calhoun (OF - TEX) 2022-23: $0.5M
2023 2nd round pick
2023 5th round pick

The Phillies send:
Eric Lauer (P - MIL) 2022: $0.5M
Merrill Kelly (P - ARI) 2022-24: $0.5M

I realize that Lauer and Kelly are both pitching over their heads right now, but I'm obviously hoping that they can provide better than league average production going forward. I was willing to deal Valera and the picks, and Hernandez and Calhoun were going to be roster casualties. Hopefully this works for both sides. Nice working with Rusty on this one.

I agree. Same reasoning as before, moving mlb assets for future ones. Neither Kelly or Lauer were in my long term plans so flipping them now for a guy in Valera and picks was a move I was happy to make. Nice working with Matt to put this together.
