Baltimore sends:
Brandon Nimmo (2019: 500k, 2020: 500k, 2021: 500k) Jarren Duran (BOS - prospect) 2020 6th round pick
Texas sends:
Rafael Devers (2019: 500k, 2020: 500k, 2021: 500k)
I still believe in Devers. I think he's a great pure hitter, and I actually hope they move him to 1B soon so he can just focus on mashing in a good lineup and park. This deal actually jams me up a little by giving up a good young OF who is eligible at all three OF positions, but I'll deal with that later. I am sad to give up Duran, who I think can be pretty special in his own right. I guess it's sort of a gift to Ben as he takes on the Boston beat for Prospects 1500. I was willing to add the draft pick because I have 9 milb claims in the next three months and a bunch of 2020 picks in the first four rounds next year. Nice dealing with Ben once again.

I agree to the deal. I certainly wasn’t expecting to move Devers in this type of deal, but Vlad looming and my OF depth crumbling pushed me to make the trade. I think Devers still can be a great dynasty player. For me, Nimmo has the excellent OBP skills to be a difference maker for my team. He matches up nicely with Soto and Pham in my OF. I also like Duran and hope he can grow into the CF of the future in Beantown. OF depth at the minor league level is a weakness as well, so the trade was able to address multiple roster holes and I dealt from a position of relative strength. Cheers to Matt and always fun talking ball with you buddy.
